Hungarian Premier claims Russia has adapted to restrictions

(MENAFN) Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban recently commended Russia for its resilience in navigating and even prospering under the weight of Western sanctions imposed due to its actions in Crimea and involvement in Ukraine. Speaking at an event hosted by Balvanyos Free University and Student Camp, Orban praised Russia's ability to adapt to the sanctions Regime imposed since 2014. He highlighted that despite the economic and Political challenges, Russia has demonstrated significant flexibility in various sectors, including technology, finance, and agriculture.

According to Orban, Russia has utilized the sanctions as a catalyst for internal development and modernization. He noted that the country has reorganized its IT and banking sectors effectively, preventing a collapse of its financial system. Moreover, Russia has successfully modernized its agricultural practices, transforming into one of the world's leading exporters of food products.

Orban's remarks underscore a perspective that contrasts with Western portrayals of Russia as a rigid autocracy. Instead, he emphasized Russia's capacity for technical, economic, and social adaptation in the face of adversity. The Hungarian leader's observations come at a time when global scrutiny and geopolitical tensions surrounding Russia remain high, particularly amidst ongoing conflicts and sanctions.
