California Wildfire Intensifies: Unprecedented Spread Threatens Northern Regions

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Foreign media have reported that four days since the devastating wildfire began in California, USA, there has been no progress in containing it, which is spreading at a rate of 20 kilometres per hour.

This massive wildfire in Northern California, known as the“Dixie Fire,” has encompassed an area of 600 square kilometres within three days and has advanced up to 144 kilometres north of Sacramento, the capital of California.

According to Reuters, on Sunday afternoon, July 27th, the wildfire consumed 350,000 hectares of land and destroyed 134 structures.

The Dixie Fire started on Thursday following a suspected arson incident. While precise details of the ignition are not yet clear, one person has been detained on suspicion of directing a vehicle to ignite within the forest.

It is reported that 2,500 firefighters have been deployed to the scene of the wildfire and are attempting to contain it, but due to wind direction and speed aiding its spread, no progress has been made thus far.

Meanwhile, the Dixie Fire in California continues to pose a significant challenge as efforts to contain it have been hindered by unfavorable weather conditions, threatening further devastation to the region.
