California Wildfire Expands Rapidly, Spreading Across 600 Sq Km


(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Foreign media reports indicate that four days after a devastating wildfire in California, no significant progress has been made in controlling the blaze, which is spreading at a rate of 20 kilometers per hour.

The massive fire, known as the“Park Fire,” has scorched an area of 600 square kilometers in Northern California within just three days and has advanced up to 144 kilometers north of Sacramento, the state capital.

According to Reuters, as of the evening of July 27, the wildfire has burned 350,000 hectares of land and destroyed 134 buildings.

The Park Fire began on Thursday due to a suspected arson incident. While details on the arson remain unclear, an individual has been arrested on suspicion of directing a burning vehicle into the forest.

It is reported that 2,500 firefighters have been deployed to the scene, working tirelessly to contain the fire. However, due to the wind direction and speed, which are exacerbating the blaze, no significant progress has been made so far.
