Shooting at home for elderly in China results in 5 deaths

(MENAFN) On Monday, a horrifying shooting occurred at the Home for the Elderly in Daruvar, located in eastern Croatia, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and leaving several others injured. The tragic incident unfolded at approximately 10:10 AM local time when the assailant, a retired military policeman, forcibly entered the elderly care facility and began firing indiscriminately.

The immediate response to the shooting saw five people being killed on the spot, with the severity of the situation leading to a swift and urgent response from emergency services. The wounded victims were quickly transported to a local hospital for medical attention, where their conditions are being closely monitored.

The shooter, who is believed to be a family member of one of the victims, managed to flee the scene following the attack. His escape, however, was short-lived. Law enforcement authorities, acting on rapid and coordinated efforts, apprehended him at a café in Daruvar later the same day. The arrest took place without further incident, and the police have since begun a thorough investigation into the motives behind this brutal act of violence.
