Uzbekistan, US Discuss Infrastructure Projects Financing For Middle Corridor


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 17. Uzbekistan and the US discussed financing infrastructure projects aimed at developing the Trans-Caspian International transport Route (Middle Corridor), Trend reports.

The matter was reviewed at a meeting between Deputy Minister of Transport Jasurbek Choriev with Acting Special Coordinator for the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and investment (PGI) Helaina Matza.

During the meeting, the sides reviewed the implementation of projects aimed at the development of transport and logistics infrastructure and the attraction of private financing to these processes.

In particular, the parties discussed developing multimodal logistics centers and A-class warehouses in Uzbekistan's regions, increasing the capacity of some railway stations.

Meanwhile, the acting Special Coordinator for the PGI, Helaina Matza, is traveling to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on July 14–19 to advance the ongoing US-led efforts to facilitate strategic infrastructure investments in the Middle Corridor.

During the visit to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, she will meet with government officials and private sector partners to discuss potential infrastructure projects and financing opportunities.
