17 Killed, 35 Injured As A Bus Overturns In Baghlan


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): At least 17 people were killed and 35 others wounded as a passenger bus overturned in the Khanjan district of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Tuesday.

Qari Mohammad Nazir Abid, head of the traffic department, told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place when a passenger-bus fell into a ditch in the Mulkhan area of north Salang this morning.

He said at least 17 people, including two children and as many women, lost their lives and 35 others were wounded in the incident.

He added the injured were evacuated to the main provincial hospital for medical treatment. He blamed technical problems in the bus for the accident.

This last Thursday, 10 people had been killed and injured as a result of a traffic accident in the province.
