Saudi Aramco awards USD25B worth of contracts for Jafoura gas field, network expansion

(MENAFN) Saudi Aramco has signed contracts for the second phase of the Jafoura field project and the third phase of its main gas network expansion project. During the contract award ceremony on Sunday, CEO Amin Nasser announced that the combined value of these contracts is USD25 billion. Nasser emphasized that the first project involves the expansion of Saudi Arabia's gas system, which has been a critical infrastructure component for the nation over the past five decades.

The expansion project will add 4,000 kilometers of pipelines, enhancing the network's capacity and extending its reach to various cities across Saudi Arabia. Notably, the cities of Jeddah and Jizan will be connected to the gas network for the first time, a development expected to support the industrial sector and generate employment opportunities for Saudis. This expansion underscores Saudi Aramco's commitment to bolstering the country's energy infrastructure and economic growth.
