Mayor Richardson serves on the USCM Advisory Board and has appeared with the organization at events like South by Southwest, where he participated in a panel discussion called

USCM is the official nonpartisan organization for cities with populations of 30,000 or more. Through the organization, mayors from 1,400 cities across the country engage with national leaders to advocate for policies that address the priorities of cities and share best practices on issues like homelessness, mental health, infrastructure, gun violence, and the environment. USCM also awards grant funding for new initiatives and solutions implemented in cities.
