Speaking to The Peninsula on the sidelines of a recent event, she said that the digital transformation project, which began in 2023, includes website of the Ministry and its Oun app and solutions for the smart city.

“One of the smart solution projects which was accomplish recently is vehicle tracking and waste management. The project has been developed for Al Wakra Municipality. The work continues to do the same for other municipalities,” said Al Maadeed.

She said that the project is being implemented by General Cleanliness Department in coordination with Mechanical Department.

“Sensor chips have been installed in the waste containers which give signal for unloading to the system equipped in the vehicles,” said Al Maadeed.

She said that the vehicle will go to only those containers which are full, saving time and efforts and preserving the environment as well reducing the trips of vehicles.

“The new version of Oun app of the Ministry of Municipality will be launched soon. We are upgrading Oun app using artificial intelligence (AI) which will enable users to avail the services in an easy way,” said Al Maadeed.

She said that the Ministry of Municipality is developing its services by upgrading the procedures and re-engineering using AI and other modern technologies to make them further efficient for users.
