Regular Normalization Meetings Play Crucial Role In Azerbaijan-Armenia Peace Agreement - FM (UPDATED)


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. Regular meetingsregarding the normalization of relations between Armenia andAzerbaijan are integral to the peace agreement preparation process,Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during atrilateral meeting with the foreign ministers of Armenia andKazakhstan, Trend reports.

“I express gratitude to the Kazakh side, particularly to thePresident of Kazakhstan, for initiating the next round ofnegotiations between our two countries' delegations. Consistentmeetings on normalizing Armenia-Azerbaijan relations are pivotal inpreparing a peace agreement. The last delegation meeting occurredover two months ago in Berlin,” he said.

Bayramov highlighted that since the previous meeting, both sideshave exchanged feedback on the draft peace agreement, along withsharing additional documents reflecting their positions on specificaspects of the negotiation process.

To note, the Azerbaijani foreign minister is currently inAlmaty. The upcoming round of negotiations between the foreignministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the "Bilateral Agreement onPeace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations" draft isscheduled as part of this visit.

On April 30, Kazakh Foreign Ministry Spokesman Aybek Smadiarovconfirmed that Azerbaijan and Armenia had affirmed theirparticipation in the talks in Almaty.

Previously, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayevextended an invitation for talks between Azerbaijan andArmenia.
