(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5. French PresidentEmmanuel Macron called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahuto complete ongoing negotiations with Hamas on a ceasefire in theGaza Strip and the release of hostages, the Elysee Palace said in astatement, Trend reports.
According to the information, Macron stressed the importance offreeing the hostages as a priority and expressed full support formediation efforts. He also called for an end to Israeli operationsin the region.
Macron discussed with Netanyahu the need to reach an agreementthat would guarantee the release of hostages, the protection ofcivilians and regional de-escalation.
