Turkmenistan Discusses Sustainable Energy Development Strategies With Foreign Partners


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 4. Turkmenistandiscussed sustainable energy development strategies and theexchange of best practices in this area with foreign partners,Trend reports.

According to the official source, these issues were discussed atthe 'Climate Change: Challenges and Solutions for SustainableEnergy' International Conference held in the city of Turkmenbashiwith the participation of about 70 delegates from Turkmenistan,representatives of UNDP, the EU, and other Central Asiancountries.

During the event, delegates from different countries andorganizations presented their experience in implementingsustainable energy policies.

UNDP experts shared their knowledge on the use of solid wastefor the production of electrical and thermal energy and discussedwaste-free production initiatives.

Meanwhile, the conference was one of the events held within theframework of the joint initiative 'Sustainable Energy Days inTurkmenistan', organized by the UNDP project 'Sustainable Cities inTurkmenistan: Integrated Green Urban Development in Ashgabat andAvaza' and the project funded by the EU 'Sustainable EnergyConnectivity in Central Asia (SECCA)', by the Ministry of Energy ofTurkmenistan and the Municipality of Turkmenbashi city, with theassistance of the Ministry of Environmental Protection ofTurkmenistan.
