(MENAFN- Live Mint) At least six people reportedly died after a small plane crashed in Philadelphia. Several videos of the crash circulating on social media showed massive explosion erupting when the incident happened.
A small plane crashed in Northeast Philadelphia 30 seconds after it took off as crews respond to a fiery scene, Pennsylvania's governor was quoted by the Associated Press as saying on Friday.

According to the report, the federal Aviation Administration said two people were aboard the plane, which was a Learjet 55. The plane, a small, business-type jet, was en route to Springfield, Missouri.
However, BNO news reported that at least six people died in the incident.
As per Flightradar24, "...a Learjet 55 (XA-UCI) crashed shortly after takeoff from Northeast Philadelphia Airport." The report stated that the flight departed at 11:06 pm UTC, reaching a maximum altitude of 1,650 ft at 23:06:54.

The plane possibly hit multiple buildings in the area. The crash happened less than 3 miles (4.8 kilometers) from Northeast Philadelphia Airport , which primarily serves business jets and charter flights.
Photos taken at the crash site appear to show residential homes on fire.
The plane crashed in a busy intersection near Roosevelt Mall, an outdoor shopping center where first responders were blocking traffic and onlookers crowded onto a street corner in the residential neighborhood of Rhawnhurst.

The plane appeared to be a medical transport jet. The plane that took off and quickly disappeared from radar was registered to a company operating as Med Jets.
