Azerbaijan, Montenegro Hold Another Round Of Political Consultations


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. Another round ofpolitical consultations between the Foreign Ministries ofAzerbaijan and Montenegro was held in Podgorica on April 2, theAzerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend .

The delegation of Azerbaijan was headed by Deputy ForeignMinister Fariz Rzayev, while the delegation of Montenegro washeaded by State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry MilisavRaspopovic.

"During the consultations, representatives from both countriesdiscussed various aspects of their bilateral cooperation acrosspolitical, economic, and humanitarian spheres. Azerbaijanhighlighted its ongoing strategic energy and transportationprojects and emphasized the importance of collaboration withininternational organizations.

Of particular note was Azerbaijan's preparation for hosting theConference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on ClimateChange (COP29) in November 2024, which was shared with the otherparties during the discussions.

The meeting also delved into the post-conflict situation in theregion, with Azerbaijan providing insights into its efforts toestablish lasting peace, address the issue of mines in recentlyliberated territories, and carry out reconstruction andconstruction projects in those areas.

Additionally, discussions encompassed international and regionalissues of mutual interest, reflecting the comprehensive nature ofthe political consultations.

Apart from the consultations, Rzayev engaged in businessmeetings with other officials of Montenegro, further strengtheningbilateral ties and exploring potential avenues for cooperation,"the Azerbaijani ministry said.
