'Dpr' Sentences Two Azov Regiment Members To 24 Years In Prison

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) On August 16, a so-called court of the terrorist organization "Donetsk People's Republic" sentenced captive Azov Regiment service members Pavlo Artemenko and Anton Romaniuk to 24 years in prison.

Russian propaganda tass media outlet writes about this, referring to the statement by the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office of Russia.

As reported, the so-called "supreme court of the DPR" accused the soldiers of the Azov Regiment of "shelling residential buildings of the DPR during the retreat in the spring of 2022."

As reported, Russia held a "trial" over 22 Azov Regiment members, who defended Mariupol and Azovstal steel works, in Rostov-on-Don on June 14. Eight women and 14 men, including a former company commander, were among the convicts.

In May 2022, after a long and difficult defense of Mariupol, Azov Regiment members were taken out of the city to the“DPR”, in particular, to the temporarily occupied Novoazovsk and Olenivka.

On July 29, the Russians committed a terrorist attack in the Olenivka penal facility, where about 200 Ukrainian POWs, mostly from Azov Regiment, were held.
