Abu Dhabi: As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, Etihad Airways (EY) has unveiled a special livery that commemorates the carrier's path to becoming one of the most influential companies in the industry.

A6-AEN, an Airbus A321neo, is the lucky aircraft that showcases a design that wraps on both sides of the fuselage the most iconic symbols and landmarks of the United Arab Emirates.

Antonoaldo Neves, CEO at EY, said,“It reflects the journey we have been on, and it also sets the tone for our future as we give flight to our ambition, to be the airline that everyone wants to fly.”

Coinciding with the disclosure of the special livery, the Abu Dhabi-based carrier has made official the delivery of a new jet to the fleet. Etihad will operate 6 initial units of the Airbus A321neo which will expand capacity on medium-haul routes out of AUH.

All 6 airframes were formerly operated by Bamboo Airways (QH), which is going through a significant fleet restructuring. These planes are reportedly being reconfigured to carry eight Business Class seats and between 200 and 215 Economy Class seats.

Etihad Airways confirmed that India and the Middle East will be the first regions to welcome the special 20th-anniversary livery, and the UAE carrier expects to receive up to 20 new aircraft in 2025.
