Iran foreign minister visiting Saudi Arabia to strengthen affairs


(MENAFN) Ministry representative stated on Monday that Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian is going to be taking a trip to Saudi Arabia “in the near future” on the invitation of his Saudi equal.

Pointing out a weekly media meeting in Tehran, Nasser Kanaani stated Amirabdollahian was by his Saudi equal Prince Faisal bin Farhan and the visit is going to be conducted in the near future.

He, however, did not provide a particular date of the visit, which is going to be the first formal visit by an Iranian foreign minister to the Arab nation in at least seven years.

Kanaani stated that throughout the visit, both sides are going to conduct discussions as well as negotiations on different matters, together with the growth of two-sided collaboration in the economic sector.

He emphasized that affairs amid both nations are “progressing step by step.”
