(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba has held a meeting with the management of the international charity organization, Misericordia, to discuss assistance with the restoration of life in the areas liberated from Russian invaders and the most war-affected regions of Ukraine. The relevant statement was made by the office of the president of ukraine , an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
In the course of the meeting, participants considered the issues of further cooperation, namely social assistance to Ukrainians.
Kuleba thanked those present for their help to Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of humanitarian missions with the support of the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Ukraine and Misericordia.
“Assistance to our citizens from the start of the full-scale invasion, assistance in the evacuation of Ukrainian refugees, especially children and the elderly, to Italy, financial assistance – the country highly appreciates Misericordia's role in supporting Ukraine in the fight against the terrorist country,” Kuleba said.
Additionally, Kuleba expressed his belief in strengthening cooperation, namely in the restoration of life in de-occupied regions and the most war-affected regions of Ukraine, such as the Kherson region, which is now recovering from the devastative, economic, environmental, and other consequences of Russia's terrorist attack at Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) thanks to joint efforts.
“We have a common vision regarding the involvement of Misericordia in recovery projects across several communities in the region. The organization is expanding its work in Ukraine at the regional level as well. The day before, a Memorandum was signed with Lviv Regional Military Administration regarding social assistance for vulnerable categories and support for medical institutions in the region,” Kuleba mentioned, having expressed gratitude to Dr. Domenico Giani and Misericordia for supporting Ukrainians both in Ukraine and abroad.
Meanwhile, Misericordia President Domenico Giani expressed readiness for further cooperation.
“We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and fully support them in their struggle for independence and democratic values. We continue our cooperation. During this visit, an ambulance was brought and handed over to St. Nicholas Hospital in Lviv. We started cooperation in the field of rehabilitation with the National Rehabilitation Center in Lviv. I am convinced that our cooperation will only strengthen in the future,” Giani stressed.
A reminder that finland is preparing a new package of humanitarian aid for the regions affected by Russia's blowing up of Kakhovka HPP.
