US disregards Russians nuclear arsenal threat

(MENAFN) The United States does not see any indicators that Russia is preparing itself to utilize its nuclear store, Secretary of State Antony Blinken has stated. His declaration followed Moscow`s revelation regarding its deployment of its initial strategic nuclear missiles to bordering Belarus.

“We have no reason to adjust our own nuclear posture,” Blinken informed journalists on Friday. “We don’t see any indications that Russia is preparing to use a nuclear weapon.”

The highest United States diplomat blamed Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko of “making irresponsible, provocative choices” to permit Russia to position nuclear weapons on his nation`s terrain.

Previously that day, Russian Leader Vladimir Putin declared at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) that the initial poor-performance missiles had arrived in Belarus, which has a protection deal with Russia.

Lukashenko stated in the past that he had demanded the positioning in order to reinforce his nation`s safety against NATO.
