During the session, attended by representatives of the US embassy and a number of women working in the commission, Eileen Bjorkman, executive director of the Air Force Test Centre at Edward Air Force Base, California, shared her experience in the military and civil aviation sector, according to a CARC statement.

In his opening remarks, CARC Chief Commissioner Captain Haitham Misto stressed the commission's keenness to provide the necessary support to women working in the aviation sector by providing the appropriate environment and training.

The commission offers women staff the opportunity to represent the commission internally and externally, Misto said.

Björkman talked about her busy career in the field of military and civil aviation, the importance of a supportive environment for women workforce, and the most prominent challenges facing women in the aviation sector in the world.

She also mentioned her latest book,“The Fly Girls Revolt”, which was published in May of this year.

The session also included a review of the most important professional and scientific achievements of women working in the commission.
