Estonia To Send €457,000 Aid To Ukraine To Help Overcome Consequences Of Kakhovka HPP Blowing Up


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Estonia will provide Ukraine with machinery and equipment to help eliminate the consequences of the Russians' blowing up of the Kakhovka dam, for which almost 457,000 euros have been allocated.

That's according to the national broadcaster err , Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that in this way Estonia responded to Ukraine's international request for assistance. The country's Rescue Department will send equipment worth almost 457,000 euros to Ukraine. The money is allocated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.

"The priority now is to rescue people from the flooded areas, and as soon as the water subsides, we can start calculating the damage and pumping out the water. It is very important for us that we can help Ukraine in this crisis. Our friends are doing exactly that," said Margo Klaos, Director General of the Estonian Rescue Board.

Hoses, pumps, absorbent material, boats, wetsuits, rubber pants, and cork vests will be sent to Ukraine.

The day before, the Latvian government decided to provide Ukraine with humanitarian aid worth more than 453,000 euros to eliminate the consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of June 6, the Russian army blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. Rescue operations and evacuation of the population from the flooded areas continue in Kherson region. The situation is particularly difficult in the temporarily occupied territories.

Ukrhydroenergo stated that Kakhovka HPP was completely destroyed and cannot be restored.
