Sudan's struggles with additional battles in war-torn Khartoum


(MENAFN) Fights elevated in Sudan's conflict-torn capital of Khartoum on Tuesday, eyewitnesses stated, as well as the citizens of an island in the Nile declared being "under siege" among desperate shortages.
Two months of battling have eroded military head Abdel Fattah al-Burhan against his previous deputy Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, who instructs the strong paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
An amount of wrecked ceasefires have presented short pauses but no respite for citizens of the town, where eyewitnesses furthermore stated "the sound of heavy artillery fire" in northern Khartoum.
Eyewitnesses also claimed that there were "clashes with various types of weapons" in south Khartoum, where "the sound of explosions shook our walls".
In the town center, at the meeting of the White Nile and Blue Nile rivers, the island of Tuti is "under total seige" by RSF forces, citizen Mohammed Youssef informed AFP.
