Assistant FM: Kuwait Continue Supporting Palestinian Issue


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, May 22 (KUNA) -- Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab World Affairs Ambassador Ahmad Al-Bakr has reiterated Kuwait's historical stance, on both official and popular levels, that supports the Palestinian cause and Palestinian rights, and rejects the Israeli occupation practices.
In a speech commemorating the 75th Anniversary of Nakba Day organized by the Palestinian Embassy in Kuwait, in cooperation with Kuwait Cartoon Society, Al-Bakr said Kuwait was a springboard for the Palestinian struggle and continues to be a voice defending the fair cause at all arenas.
He renewed Kuwait's firm stance on backing the Palestinian cause in the face of the Israeli occupation, and standing side by side with Palestinian people and their choices.
He went to say that Kuwait further supports all efforts aiming to reach a fair and comprehensive solution to ensure the end of the occupation and the refugees' return as well as the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Ambassador to Kuwait Rami Tahboub lauded Kuwait's stance toward the Palestinian cause and Palestinians.
He also extolled Kuwait's economic and financial support to Palestinian people, saying, "Kuwait's backing to Palestine at international arenas is the most important pillar of political support to Palestinians". (end)
