(MENAFN- DHAMAN) Health Assurance Hospitals Company (DHAMAN) announced the signing of a contract with the Ministry of Finance represented by the Assistant Undersecretary for State Property Affairs, Legal Affairs and State Property Real Estate, Mr. Abdul Rahman Khudair Al-Khamis to receive the third land allocated as part of the for the DHAMAN’s health network as stipulated in the bid document to build and develop the third hospital in Dajeej area in Farwaniya Governorate.
DHAMAN said that the signing of the third land contract represents a great addition to the company in order to expand its health network, maximize and increase its health services, and diversify sources of income in the future. The company will now commence the necessary engineering design process for its third hospital building, which has an area of approximately 50,000 square meters, in addition to establishing an additional number of primary healthcare centers in different regions of Kuwait, bringing the total number of DHAMAN’s facilities to three hospitals and twelve primary healthcare centers.
On this occasion, DHAMAN’s CEO, Mr. Thamer Arab, said that the Ministry of Finance has an important role in supporting economic diversification through the state property law and building sustainable development through the partnership between the public and private sectors law. Mr. Arab added that DHAMAN, being one of the most important projects of the healthcare pillars in the New Kuwait 2035 Vision, aims to raise healthcare indicators through preventive health and achieve a quantum leap for the healthcare sector in Kuwait by restructuring health services and establishing a modern and advanced health system administratively and medically. Providing nearly 7,000 job opportunities for Kuwaitis and others in the medical sector. Adding that the signing of the contract for the third land stipulated in the bidding document, which is considered one of the special approvals granted to DHAMAN by the government is an indication of the keenness of the government to support this national developmental and economic project and to support the health sector.
Mr. Arab indicated that the new hospital will include a wide range of basic medical specialties in hospitals along with outpatient clinics, and all related pharmacies, laboratories and radiology services. Mr. Arab added that the first step now, after receiving the land from Kuwait Municipality, is to make the engineering designs for the hospital, followed by obtaining the necessary approvals from Kuwait Municipality and other relevant authorities. Then comes the stage of qualifying and selecting the main contractor who shall start the construction operations, and it is expected that these stages will take a period ranging from 3 to 4 years as a maximum.
Mr. Arab concluded that DHAMAN has, since its inception, possessed a pioneering vision for healthcare and the future directions of this vital sector, aiming to build a healthier society through the implementation of sustainability programs, especially in the healthcare pillar, as the future issuer of the assurance certificate for compulsory healthcare for expat employees working in the private sector and their families, who number more than 1.8 million people through a network of health facilities distributed in the various governorates of Kuwait.
The company has currently completed two hospitals in the Ahmadi and Jahra governorates with a capacity of 660 beds, in addition to equipping and operating five primary healthcare centers distributed in different governorates, which are currently operating as private centers, ready to receive those wishing to obtain healthcare in family medicine, dental and pediatric clinics, in addition to radiology and laboratory services. All in preparation for the opening of the DHAMAN network and receive the main beneficiaries of its services, the residents working in the private sector and their families.
