Syria, Iran Sign Long-Term Strategic Cooperation Agreement
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, May 3 (KUNA) -- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his Syrian counterpart Bashar Al-Asad, Wednesday signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement between the two countries.
The two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding in many fields including oil industry cooperation, the Syrian Arab News Agency SANA said.
Earlier, the two presidents discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthening them, in addition to latest region developments.
The Iranian President arrived to Damascus with a high level delegation for a two-day visit, the first of its kind since war broke out in Syria in 2011. (end)
