Qazvin Province Produces 62,000 Tons of Chicken Meat This Year

(MENAFN) Qazvin province, located in Iran, produced 62,000 tons of chicken meat during the past Iranian calendar year 1401, which ended on March 20. This was announced by Ali Ramezanpour, the poultry affairs director of the province’s Agriculture Department. According to Ramezanpour, there are 370 chicken breeding units active in the province, with a production capacity of about eight million chickens. He further stated that he anticipates 63,200 tons of chicken meat to be produced in the poultry units of the province in the current year.

Qazvin province plays an important role in supplying the country's livestock and poultry products as its poultry breeding units not only provide the chicken required by the province but also part of the market needs of the neighboring provinces, Ramezanpour added. He also mentioned that Qazvin province ranks 13th in the production of chicken meat in the country.

Recently, an adviser to the Poultry Farmers Union announced that the problem of supplying food to poultry farmers had been solved. Mohammad-Ali Kamali stated that part of the increase in the price of chicken meat is due to high prices and part is related to the production costs. This was a significant issue for producers and breeders of the poultry industry as there was a scarcity of soybean meal in the last month of the past Iranian calendar year due to problems faced by traders. However, this problem has now been resolved.

The production of chicken meat in Qazvin province is expected to continue to increase, thanks to the contribution of its poultry breeding units. The province's Agriculture Department is working closely with these units to ensure that they have the necessary resources and support to meet the growing demand for chicken meat both in the province and neighboring areas. With the recent resolution of the food supply issue, the poultry industry in Qazvin province is poised for growth and success in the coming years.
