Qatar University Promotes Scientific Research among Youth through National Science Promotion Program


(MENAFN) The Qatar University Young Scientists Centre (QU-YSC) has successfully concluded the second cycle of its research funding programme, the National Science Promotion Program (NSPP), in partnership with the Office of the Vice President for Research and graduate Studies (VPRGS). The programme aims to promote scientific research among Qatari youth by enabling students to work under the supervision of skilled researchers in various research projects of national interest.

The NSPP provides an opportunity for students to develop their research skills and contribute to scientific advancements in Qatar. During the final ceremony of the NSPP, judges from prestigious institutions such as Unesco Office Gulf States & Yemen, IFIA, QU's Biomedical Research Center, and Hamad Medical Cooperation evaluated the oral presentations and outstanding contributions of the student participants.

The winners of the high school student category included Hamad Nasser Redhwani and Mohammed Ahmad Fakhroo, who won first place; Tamader Al Jumaily and Ghalya Al Maraghi, who won second place; and Noor Faisal A M Albadr and Hissa Abdulla S R Al Ali, who were awarded third place. These students were acknowledged for their excellent work and dedication to their research projects.

Qatar University's Young Scientists Centre plays a significant role in promoting scientific research among Qatari youth. The NSPP provides a platform for students to contribute to national research projects and gain valuable experience under the supervision of skilled researchers. The programme is essential in promoting the development of scientific research in Qatar and inspiring the next generation of scientists and researchers.
