60 Children Participate In Holy Quran Memorisation Competition

Doha: The activities of the 12th session of the Holy Quran memorisation competition for the blessed month of Ramadan 2023 kicked off yesterday.

In total, 60 children between the ages of 10-14 years participated, and 35 of which are male children who joined the Quran memorization workshops at Katara Mosque, while 25 girls joined the memorisation sessions at the Golden Mosque, where the activities of the course continue weekly from Sunday to Thursday, after the Asr prayer for an hour.

On the other hand, the current session includes teaching parts of the Holy Quran and some of the noble hadiths of the Prophet, in addition to teaching children about prayer, ablution, stories of the prophets, the Prophet's biography, and Islamic literature.

Katara aims through this competition to raise the young generation, and strengthen its connection with its Islamic identity and the foundations of its true religion.

On the other hand, the parents of the children participating in the 12th session of the Holy Quran memorization competition expressed their happiness for their children joining the event and teaching workshops, expressing their admiration for the advanced level of the course and under the supervision of a group of qualified memorisers. They also praised the important role that Katara plays in connecting children young adults with Holy Quran, recitation, memorisation and contemplation, as well as the importance of the competition in inculcating Islamic values and good morals derived from the Holy Qur'an and the Prophet's biography.
