Three Earthquakes Strike Southern Turkiye


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, March 13 (KUNA) -- An earthquake struck Turkiye's Malatya and Hatay provinces on Monday.
The Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) reported an earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck Hassa in the province of Hatay at a depth of 11.52 kilometers below the earth's surface.
AFAD also reported two earthquakes struck Malatya measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, at a depth of eight and 10 kilometers below the earth surface.
An earthquake jolted southern Turkiye and northern Syria in February, with a magnitude of 7.7, followed by another quake hours later with a magnitude of 7.6 and hundreds of violent aftershocks. The strong quakes took at least 50,000 lives and inflicted massive destruction and damage in cities and towns in the two neighboring countries. (end)
