Saudi Arabia Recruits Female Drivers

São Paulo – Saudi Arabia has included female private driver positions in its platform for domestic work recruiting , Musaned. The new position was launched along with ten new professions in the platform. At Musaned, employers can search for professionals from recruitment agencies that select and refer workers.
News about recruiting private female drivers was published on the Saudi news website arab news . According to the news outlet, the initiative is part of the Arab country's strategic plan, Vision 2030, which has among its goals developing female talent and providing women with opportunities to build their future to contribute to the progress of Saudi society.
The share of women employed in Saudi Arabia rose from 21% to 35% in five years, according to figures released last month by the head of the Saudi Human Rights Commission (HRC), Hala Al-Tuwaijri, at a United Nations (UN) event. The Arab country has taken other measures in recent years to bring local women's rights closer to men's, such as allowing women to drive, in 2018; travel unaccompanied to other countries, in 2019; and live alone without the permission of a guardian, in 2021.
The inclusion of positions for female drivers at Musaned is also part of Saudi Arabia's effort to broaden the scope of its workforce. The integrated digital system was developed to facilitate the recruitment of domestic workers and increase the protection of the rights of both parties, employers and employees. Through Musaned, contractors can submit their intended employee profile to recruitment agencies of their choice, and they will provide up to five CVs to choose from.
