Amman, Feb. 22 (Petra) -- Princess Basma bint Talal, Chairperson of the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), Wednesday visited the patients of the campaign on the Goodwill Campaign (GWC) at the Specialty Hospital and the Middle East Eye Hospitals.
Princess Basma visited the patients who underwent various free surgeries in 2023 by a volunteer medical team as part of the Healing Touch programme of the GWC. The surgeries are conducted in partnership between the GWC and the private medical sector.
At the Specialty Hospital, Princess Basma listened to a presentation by doctors supervising medical cases about the operations performed for 11 patients in orthopaedic and joint, plastic surgery, general surgery and brain and nerve surgery.
As for the Middle East Eye Hospital, she listened to an explanation about the operations performed for the patients. They varied between removing cataracts in the eyes, implanting lenses, correcting squint, visual amblyopia and treating eye pressure.
She noted the 'importance' of partnerships between the GWC, charities and the private medical sector in providing quality medical and treatment services to underprivileged campaign patients.
