Qatar University, Sunway University Sign Mou To Enhance Collaboration

Doha: Qatar University (QU) and Sunway University, Malaysia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration and utilise joint resources to benefit both institutions.
This includes the development of academic and cultural exchange programmes in the field of education.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Hassan Al Derham, President of Qatar University, and Prof. Sibrandes Poppema, President of Sunway University. The MoU covers collaboration in areas such as faculty and student exchange, course materials and information exchange, and cooperation in research and scholarships.
During his speech at the signing ceremony, Dr. Hassan Al Derham said,“Today we are honoured to host Prof Sibrandes Poppema, President of Sunway University, at the Qatar University campus who presented to us a distinguished presentation about Sunway University and the significant progress the university has made in various academic and research fields.
“Today's agreement reaffirms Qatar University's commitment to collaborating with Sunway University to benefit from joint resources in different research fields and to collaborate in faculty and student exchange programmes. We are confident that this agreement will be beneficial to both institutions.”
Prof. Sibrandes Poppema presented an overview of Sunway University, its vision, mission, and various academic programmes. He introduced the attendees to the 20 research centers at Sunway University and presented the special focus the university has on research and inventions related to sustainable development and planetary health.
Poppema also highlighted the progress the university has made in recent years, mentioning that the university has quickly entered global rankings and attracted the best professors, researchers, and students from all over the world.
