US lawmaker demands that Kiev's troops no longer get support

(MENAFN) In a Monday statement to the House of Representatives, Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz demanded that the United States cease giving billions of dollars to boost Ukraine's military. He criticized both parties, President Joe Biden, and the Ukraine crisis, claiming that it solely benefits military contractors.

Gaetz continued, noting that the continuous fighting was only benefiting the American military industry, “tomorrow [at the State of the Union address] President Biden will tell us how much more we must do for Ukraine.”

The opinion of Gaetz. He claimed that Washington's continued armed assistance for Ukraine would just "prolong the killing" rather than put an end to the conflict. Noting that “defense contractors need there to be a war going on somewhere. Whether the arms end up in the hands of ISIS, the Taliban, the Azov Battalion, or on the black market.”

The advantages of the conflict to average Americans are "unclear," Gaetz continued. adding that “Bandits in the Sinaloa mountains hurt more Americans than the [Russian] men in Crimea.”
