Turkey’s BIST 100 index opens week with higher figures


(MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index started at 5,201.07 points on Monday, surging 0.18 percent, or 9.24 points, from the prior end.

On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index decreased 0.75 percent to end the week standing at 5,191.83, with a day to day exchange volume of 97 billion Turkish liras (USD5.17 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira selling price stood at 18.8076 as of 9.56 AM regional time (0656GMT), the euro/lira trading price was at 20.4270, whereas a British pound exchanged for 23.3020 Turkish liras.

International benchmark Brent crude exchanged at USD85.93 a barrel as of 09.56 AM regional time (0656 GMT), a 0.54 percent decline from the ending price of USD86.40 a barrel in the prior exchange session.

The American benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) sold at USD79.19 a barrel at the same time, a 0.61 percent decrease following the prior session ended at USD79.68 per barrel. whereas the rate of one ounce of gold reached USD1,946.20.
