At Least 110 Abducted Residents Of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia Regions Held At Simferopol Pre-Trial Detention Center

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The occupiers unlawfully hold at least 110 people abducted from the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions at Simferopol pre-trial detention center No. 2.

'A new pre-trial detention center No. 2, which was opened and is overseen by FSB officers, is designed to hold at least 458 inmates. At the end of last year, we had data that at least 110 people were held there earlier taken out of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions,' Olha Skrypnyk, Head of the Board of the Crimean Human Rights Group, said during a press conference at the Ukrinform news agency.

Ukrainian activists, journalists, volunteers, as well as foreign citizens who were involved in volunteer activities, are among those imprisoned, Skrypnyk noted.

'Volunteers or ATO participants are charged with international terrorism. There are also espionage cases. This is very strange because Russia can bring espionage charges against the citizens of the Russian Federation, and here we are talking about the citizens of Ukraine,' the human rights activist stressed.

As reported, some people are held at Simferopol pre-trial detention center No. 2 without opening cases against them.
