Russians Mobilize Men With Disabilities In Donetsk Region


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Russian invaders continue to recruit residents in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. In Horlivka, during another raid, about 30 people, including four with disabilities, were mobilized to replenish the Russian army ranks.

The General Staff of the armed forces of Ukraine said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

'The Russian invaders continue to carry out full-scale armed aggression against our state. They do not stop striking, carrying out artillery fire on critical infrastructure and civilian homes throughout the territory of Ukraine, violating the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of war,' the report says.

Over the past day, the enemy launched 8 missile attacks and 31 air strikes. The Russian forces carried out 63 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems, including on the civilian infrastructure of the cities of Kharkiv, Kherson, Kramatorsk in Donetsk region and Ochakiv in Mykolaiv region. There are victims among the civilian population.

The General Staff stressed that there is still a threat of enemy air strikes and missile attacks on critical infrastructure facilities throughout Ukraine.

The enemy is conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Lyman directions, and is attempting to improve its tactical position in the Kupiansk direction. The Russian forces are focusing their efforts on capturing Donetsk region within the administrative border, with no success achieved.

Over the past 24 hours, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks near the settlements of Bilohorivka, Chervonopopivka, Kuzmine in Luhansk region, and Soledar, Bilohorivka, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Vodiane, Kurdiumivka, Mayorsk, Maryinka, and Pobieda in Donetsk region.

According to the General Staff, the Russians continue to carry out measures to mobilize the local population in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. In particular, in Horlivka, Donetsk region, on January 6, during another raid, they mobilized up to 30 people, including four with disabilities. After two days of so-called training at the Vostochny training ground, they were sent to a military unit of the Russian occupation forces.

It is noted that the enemy continues to suffer losses. In particular, in the first week of 2023, about 120 occupiers were brought to the hospital in Novotroitske, Kherson region.

'Aircraft of the Defense Forces launched 18 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the enemy, as well as 3 strikes on the positions of its anti-aircraft missile systems. In addition, our soldiers shot down two enemy reconnaissance Orlan UAVs. Units of the rocket troops and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit a command post, 5 areas of concentration of enemy manpower and military equipment, and two positions of occupiers' anti-aircraft missile systems,' the General Staff said.

As reported, from February 24, 2022 to January 9, 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 111,760 Russian invaders.
