But the Chair’s work does not stop there; we seek solutions to these complex problems that are practicable and collaborative—solutions that seek to utilize humanity’s full capacities. We look forward to acknowledging this moment with the University of Maryland community and with people across the world."

“Part of what makes the Baha’i Chair unique is that it brings together scholars, practitioners, and experts who should be in conversation with one another, but oftentimes are not,” says Rashawn Ray, a Professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland and expert on racial and social inequality. “I think that is the essence of important work, that is the essence of how we move forward in terms of creating equity is to put people in the same space who otherwise would not be there, to use empirical research to move forward, and to do the type of important work that the Baha’i Chair for World Peace is doing at the University of Maryland, in the county, in the state, and across the country.”
