Chelsea announces Fofana Transfer from Molde

(MENAFN) Chelsea announced on Saturday the inking of David Datro Fofana from Norway's Molde until 2029 with a clause to sign for an additional year.

"Hello dear fans, I’m here, I’ve arrived well and I’m very happy to sign for the club of my dreams. I’ll see you soon on the pitch, cheers!" Fofana stated following the inking ceremony.

The Blues considered Fofana as a prolific goal scorer as well as one of European football’s most talented young prospects.

"The Ivorian’s combination of pace, skill and strength make him a versatile striker, capable of scoring goals but especially adept at holding up the ball and retaining possession under pressure," Chelsea asserted in an announcement.

The 20-year-old Ivory Coast star got 24 goals and 10 assists under his name in 65 games for Molde.

Fofana, who has two caps for the Ivory Coast national team, started his football career in the capital team of his nation, Abidjan City FC.

In the meantime, the economic terms of the deal were not revealed.
