Honey output increases by 30 percent in Kordestan province


(MENAFN) Output of honey has surged 30 percent in Kordestan province, in the west of Iran, throughout the ongoing Iranian calendar year (which started on March 21, 2022), in comparison with the last year, as said by a provincial official.

Talking about the census of apiaries in the region throughout October 8-20, 2022, Farzad Moaveni, the deputy chief of the province’s Agriculture Department, informed around the favorable expansion of honey output as well as the amount of colonies in the apiaries of the district.

While mentioning the amount of colonies in Kordestan district, he stated that “According to this census, there are 278,000 colonies in the province, of which 97 percent are modern and three percent are indigenous.”

Declaring that an overall of 2,435 tons of honey was created in the province this year, he continued: “2,415 tons of it were related to modern colonies and 20 tons were related to native colonies.”
