Russian Forces Launch 48 Strikes On Sumy Region On Dec 9

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Russian troops launched 48 strikes on Ukraine's Sumy region on Friday, December 9.

Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, the head of the Sumy regional military administration, said this in a post on the telegram messaging app, Ukrinform reports.

He noted that the enemy had shelled a border village of the Shalyhyne community with 120mm mortars and that eight strikes had been recorded.

'Yunakivka community: 40 120mm Russian mines exploded on the outskirts of the border area. In both cases, there were no casualties or destruction,' Zhyvytskyi said.

In addition, on December 8, the enemy dropped explosives on a civilian house from a drone in the Bilopillia community. 'A fire broke out and the house burned to the ground. People survived only because they were not at home at that moment,' he said.

The situation with energy supply in the Sumy region is difficult as more than half of the population remains without electricity.
