Erdogan ignores US cautions

(MENAFN) Turkey's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, claimed on Friday that his country is committed to "root out" terrorists, regardless of where they are or who they consider to be allies. His remarks follow Washington's protest to Ankara over an airstrike that "directly threatened" United States troops in Syria who were collaborating with Kurdish militias.

In an address at the Istanbul Shipyard, Erdogan declared. The four corvettes Islamabad has ordered from Turkey were ceremonially inaugurated with the participation of the Turkish president and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, “no matter who terrorists collude with, Türkiye will always hold them accountable for every drop of blood they shed.”

Regarding the terrorist organization Islamic State, Erdogan added that "no one can lecture Türkiye, which is the only NATO ally that fought Daesh hand to hand and was victorious."

As part of Operation Claw-Sword, Ankara has launched air and artillery attacks in northern Syria and Iraq since Sunday. Its objectives are the Kurdish militias that Turkey accuses of being behind the terrorist attack that left six people dead and 81 injured on November 13 in Istanbul. The Pentagon charged Turkey with endangering its troops and the fight against IS after Turkish planes bombed a location just 300 meters from a United States base close to Hasakah on Wednesday.
