KABUL (Pajhwok): Head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has assured Afghanistan cooperation in health sector, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said on Saturday.
Acting Public Health Minister Dr. Qalandar Ebad has held a meeting with Dr. Tedros in Oman's capital Mascut on the sideline of Anti-Microbial Resistance Conference.
Representatives from UN, UNICEF, FAO and WFP were also present during the meeting.
During a meeting Dr. During a meeting Dr. Tedros matters related to the improvement of health services, access to health services in far-flung areas, capacity building of health officials and the participation of Afghanistan and WHO assembly were discussed.
Dr. Ebad invited head of the WHO to visit Afghanistan. Dr. Tedros hailed the acting government achievements in the area of health sector and assured health ministry of his cooperation.
