Top Russian advisor meets Iran’s minister to grow transport relations


(MENAFN) Igor Yevgenyevich Levitin, advisor to the leader of the Russian Federation, took a trip to Iran in addition to a high-ranking representative to hold a gathering with Iranian Transport and Urban Development Minister Rostam Qasemi and to talk about the growth of transport relations.

As mentioned in reports by the portal of the Iranian Transport Ministry, throughout the gathering with Qasemi on Thursday, Levitin stated that he has been tasked by his nation’s leader to take the needed indications for the operation of Iran’s Rasht-Astara railway and the indicating of the nation’s Incheh Borun-Garmsar railway line.

While giving a speech to the news following the gathering, Qasemi asserted that “The Russian side presented the financial plan for the completion of the Rasht-Astara railway project and it was decided that we would give them our response after reviewing the proposed plan; overall the negotiations were very positive.”

The official continued: “Currently, one Russian train enters Iran’s Shahid Rajaei port every other day, however, there is the capacity for five Russian trains to enter Iran from Sarakhs border every day, and detailed negotiations have been conducted in this regard.”
