Qatar Chamber Chairman, Finnish Minister For Development Co-Operation Review Ways To Boost Relations

Qatar Chamber chairman sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani recently met with Finland's Minister for Development Co-operation and Foreign Trade, Ville Skinnari, and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting held in the chamber's Doha headquarters was attended by board members Ali bin Abdullatif al-Misnad and Mohamed bin Ahmed al-Obaidli, as well as a number of businessmen from both countries.
The meeting discussed economic and commercial relations between both countries and means to enhance them and the investment climate and opportunities available in both countries, as well as the possibility for Qatari and Finnish businessmen to establish joint investments.
Sheikh Khalifa lauded the close relations between both counties in the commercial fields, noting that the Qatari private sector is looking forward to boosting cooperation with its Finnish counterpart, especially in the sectors that require advanced technology.
On trade volume, Sheikh Khalifa said Qatar-Finland bilateral trade volume stood at QR395mn in 2021 compared to QR381mn in 2020, recording a 4% increase.
Sheikh Khalifa said there are many Finnish companies operating in Qatar in various sectors like tourism, medical, lifts, and cosmetics. He stressed that the Qatari market highly welcomes Finnish companies and that Qatari businessmen are eager to learn more about the investment opportunities available in Finland.
Skinnari also lauded the strong relations between his country and Qatar. He discussed Finland's investment climate, noting that there is a multitude of investment opportunities available in many sectors there, especially in the advanced technology industries. He called on Qatari businessmen to invest in Finland, which offers many opportunities in various sectors, such as oil and gas, technology industries, and many others.
