Iran: Alborz region witnesses 176 percent jump in shipment in 5 months annually


(MENAFN) The worth of shipment from Alborz district surged to 176 percent in the opening five months of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), in comparison with the same span of time in the last year, a provincial official declared.

Hamid Ahmadi, the head-general of Alborz province’s Customs Department, stated that 98,000 tons of outputs valued at USD82 million were shipped from the district in the five-month span of time, showing 136 percent surge in terms of mass as well.

He labeled evaporative cooler, pasta, every kind of medicine, tea, detergent, chemical in addition to plastic outputs, electronic and electrical devices and food as the major shipped objects and also named Iraq, Russia, Pakistan, Turkey, Somalia, Kenya, UAE, Afghanistan, India as well as Kazakhstan as the main shipment destinations.

The official announced that 37,000 tons of outputs worth USD289 million were shipped in to the province in the opening five months of the current year, with five percent increase in value and two percent decrease in mass on a yearly basis.
