Tunisia assures its support to Arab boycott of Israel

(MENAFN) Tunisia declared it is dedicated by the Arab refusal of Israel.

Last week, campaigners spread media reports on social media on trade exchange between Tunis and Tel Aviv, a statement laid off by the Tunisian Ministry of Trade.

“Tunisia is committed by the rules and principles of the Arab boycott within relevant agreements at the level of the Arab League,” the ministry stated.

The ministry also stated that Tunisia has denied to use the General deals on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), which covers global trade in goods, regarding Israel since the North African nation became a member of it in 1990.

The ministry added it bans overseas businesses and transport companies “that violate the principles and rules of the boycott to Israel.”

Around 70 years ago (1954), the Cairo-based Arab League supported a resolution to refuse Israel after its creation in historical Palestine.
