Turkish share exchange ends Friday’s session in negative territory


(MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index ended at 2,864.25 points on Friday, decreasing 0.15 percent from the prior end.

Finishing its two-day earning streak, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index recorded a surge of 4.14 percent this week.

After opening the day at 2,873.74. points, the index dropped 4.19 points from Thursday's record-high end of 2,868.44 points.

Throughout the day, the index's worst worth stood at 2,840.99, whereas its day-to-day peak reached 2,896.67.

The entire market value of the BIST 100 stood at nearly 2.3 trillion Turkish liras (USD127.2 billion) by market end, with a day to day exchange volume of 50.1 billion liras (USD2.8 billion).

One ounce of gold sold for USD1,790.35 by market end, pulled down by a harsh decline in the US dollar, in line with statistics from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was nearly USD97.9 a barrel at 6.39 PM regional time (1539GMT), falling 1.72 percent on a day-to-day basis with request doubt set against surged international oil production.
