The All England Club has warned players to use their food allowance wisely. There are no specific guidelines on how the athletes and their coaches should handle the money, but the All England Club has issued an advisory in response to an odd occurrence that happened. It was found that a coach had pocketed 27 probiotic yogurt packets to utilize his daily food allowance.

A player receives a daily meal allowance of £90. Their coaches get half of that. The players can use their daily allowances at nearly six different outlets. It includes 2 restaurants, 2 coffee shops, and 2 sandwich shops.

All England Club appeals to players to not max out daily allowances

An email was sent by the All England Club to all the players reminding them to be more 'judicious' in using their allowance and further instructed them to not spend their expenses unnecessarily.

However, it appears that some individuals have been using the allocation as more of a goal. This is citing fears about availability. This is not a cost-cutting measure since funds for meals are already part of the budget. However, it is rather to prevent any food shortages.

“Each player and coach gets an allocated amount each day so everyone wants to use the full amount to get their money's worth,” said a source to The Sun.

This isn't the first time a Grand Slam tournament has had problems with player food and drink intake. Australian Open had to do away with free food, drink, and refreshments throughout the tournament for players and coaches when the organizers saw the facility being exploited.
