São Paulo – The Brazilian federal government will promote a trade mission to ten Arab countries from May 17 to June 6. The trip will be organized by the Special Secretariat for Strategic Affairs (SAE) of the Presidency of the Republic, and the delegation will include business people and representatives of associations in the defense, agribusiness, and infrastructure sectors. The Arab countries to be visited will be Morocco, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. A small delegation group will also visit Iraq to fulfill a specific schedule.

The Presidency's special secretary for Strategic Affairs, Flávio Augusto Viana Rocha (pictured above), visited the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) headquarters in the capital city of São Paulo this Friday (13) to hold a meeting with the participating business people and associations. ABCC president ambassador Osmar Chohfi also participated.

The goal of the mission, according to the secretary, is to make contacts and possible business with counterparts in the sectors and present partnerships between Brazilian and Arab businesspeople. Rocha said there would also be a schedule with Arab investment funds. The full mission schedule has not yet been released. The Secretariat's Communications advisor, Marcos Viana, will coordinate the mission and participated in the hybrid meeting, which had on-site and video call participants.

Participations of the Brazilian Association of Industries of Defense and Security Materials (Abimde), Brazilian Association of Exporters of Fruit and Derivatives (Abrafrutas), and companies such as Embraer, Mac Jee, Taurus, Condor, and Avionics are confirmed. Also participating will be the Department of Defense Products (Seprod) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The ABCC will be represented at the mission by the Institutional Relations director, Fernanda Baltazar.

At the end of the mission, the delegation will also have appointments in Hungary and the Czech Republic. The trip will be made in a Brazilian Air Force (FAB) KC-390 aircraft, an Embraer cargo model adapted for the flight with economy class accommodation.
