East Jerusalem Is The Eternal Capital Of Palestine -- Presidency
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RAMALLAH, May 8 (KUNA) -- East Jerusalem including its sacred Islamic and Christian sites is the eternal capital of Palestine, Palestinian Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said on Sunday.
This comes upon international legitimacy resolutions, the latest of which was number 2334, which entailed that eastern Jerusalem is an inseparable part of the occupied Palestinian territories, he affirmed.
Palestinian news agency (WAFA) published these remarks, in response to Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's notes that all decisions regarding Temple Mount and Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque should be taken by the Israeli government.
'Any Israeli attempts to bestow legitimacy to the occupation of Palestinian lands including eastern Jerusalem are failed attempts aiming at underestimating the Palestinian achievements gained by the Palestinian people who fight fiercely in protecting of the Islamic and Christian holy sites', Abu Rudeineh said.
Meanwhile, in response to Israeli Premier's remarks indicating that Israel respects all religions, Abu Rudeineh added that 'these are misleading and false annotations, as Israeli forces intruded into Al-Aqsa Holy Mosque, and imposed restrictions and limited the number of worshippers during the celebration of Holy Saturday at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre' he added.
The Palestinians presidency spokesman also added that 'the League of Nations resolution of year 1930, according to the Shaw Committee, entails that the ownership of the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque, Al-Buraq Wall and the square opposite belongs to Muslims alone'. (end)
